Terms & Conditions

R&R Kayaks Cancellation Policy:

We at R&R Kayaks understand that travel plans or group numbers may vary due to illness, accident or other factors. In turn we ask that you respect and understand that we may have declined a number of people for the reserved places. R&R Kayaks may also have committed to other fees/payments such as transport, food, guides or accommodation and these will need to be paid for.

  • Please note that once a guided tour or kayak rental has started there is no refund
  • R&R Kayaks reserves the right to alter trip directions/route at any point. This does not give the client the option to cancel without the cancellation policy applying. All prices or tours are subject to change without notice.
  • R&R Kayaks reserves the right to cancel a client’s tour or rental due to non-compliance to our terms and conditions, safety briefings or rules and regulations of the Abel Tasman National Park and surrounding area.

Due to the current situation we all find ourselves in post Covid-19 we have decided to implement our new 'Booking Assurance'.

Our Booking Assurance gives you the assurance that if you make any booking with us and if you are unable to travel due to government travel restrictions, covid-19 testing or self isolation then you have the flexibility to change your booking date or if this does not suit a full refund will be provided.

You must give us notice of this at least 24 hours prior to your tour/rental departing. We may also request documentation to support this.

Day tours/rentals:

Cancellation within 48 hours will incur a 50% cancellation fee, cancellation within 24 hours or no shows will have no refund and be charged for full payment. All other cancellations prior to 48 hours will incur a 10% administration fee.

Multi day tours:

Cancellation within 3 weeks of departure will incur 100% cancellation fee unless we can refill your spots on the tour. All other cancellations will incur a 10% administration fee along with all relevant accommodation fees.

We take your safety very seriously and for this reason R&R Kayaks may at any point cancel a tour or rental due to unsafe weather or sea conditions/forecast. We please ask that you respect our right to do so and understand that it is for your safety. If R&R Kayaks cancel then we offer you an alternative tour/rental day or if this is unable to happen then a full refund is provided.

R&R Kayaks reserve the right to re-book you on to another kayak provider or cancel your tour/rental if we are unable to provide the service due to staff self-isolation or R&R Kayaks being forced to close due to COVID-19 reasons. If we have to cancel your booking then a full refund will be provided to you.

Of course we are doing everything we can on a daily basis to make sure that all tours and rentals are able to run safely, but we please ask you for your understanding if we are forced to cancel any of our tours.

R&R Kayaks recommend that all clients have correct travel insurance for sea kayaking. While on a guided tour R&R Kayaks cover all kayaks and relevant equipment but not personal gear or belongings. While on a kayak rental the client is responsible for all kayaks and gear both personal and R&R kayaks until given back to R&R Kayaks.

For R&R Kayaks to confirm your booking we require a 10% deposit along with valid visa/mastercard details. Should further cancellation fees, 'no show' on the day or other charges apply, your credit card may be charged the appropriate amount. Surcharge of 2% may apply for credit card payments.
